Hidden Falls Hike

Where: Hidden Falls up Big Cottonwood Canyon
Elevation Gain: 40 feet

Distance: 0.3 miles
Hiking time: about 15 minutes to reach the falls

Driving Directions: To reach the trailhead, drive 4.4 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon. Park in the small lot located on the right (southeast) side of the road in the second, upper curve of the "S-Turn." The trail is above the lot on the opposite (north) side of the road. Additional parking can be found at the lower parking area, where a small road branches right (southeast) from the lower curve of the "S-Turn."

After crossing the highway from the parking lot, take the lower left trail into the shade of trees, avoiding the set of stairs on the right (these lead to the Mill B North Fork Overlook Trail).

This was such a fun, short trail. The trail leads you down into a shaded area with a little stream.

See how the falls are "hidden" around the corner? If you want to get wet, you can go ahead and walk closer through the stream. We opted to stay where we were.

There's an old abandoned mine as well that was pretty cool for the kids to see.

After "hiking" to Hidden Falls, we wanted to hike some more so we decided to head up the Mill B North Fork Trail for just a few minutes. It starts at the stairs.

Looking down on the "S" curve behind us.

Nature is so pretty.

The view from the top of the stairs was pretty neat.

Definitely a great hike for kids in my book!
