Lavender Farm in Mona, UT

source
We've had the Lavender Farm in Mona, Utah on our bucket list for a few months now and we made it happen! It is such a fun and unique place to visit, I highly recommend it to everyone! It's located in Mona, Utah, about 65 miles South of Salt Lake City. Our drive there took about an hour from SLC.

I received a lot of questions after posting a picture on my Instagram account, so I thought I'd do a post showing photos of what there is to do at the Lavender Farm and what to expect.
From their website:
"The rugged landscape of central Utah contrasts with our serene, fragrant lavender fields to create a place of pure peace and relaxation. Featuring over 1,400 acres of fragrant herbs, a cool reservoir, pristine natural beauty and fresh mountain air, the Mona, UT Lavender Farm is a beautiful destination the whole family can enjoy." Activities include:

Annual Lavender Day
Essential oils classes
Run through the Lavender 5K
Distillery tours
Wagon rides
Small animal farm visits
Paddleboat cruises

Annual Lavender Days Activities July 8-9, 2016 More info HERE

The BEST part about the Lavender Farm is that it's completely free! No admission fee is required you can go explore the grounds for free. The one exception is if you visit during Lavender Days which is in July. See the link above for more info on pricing and such for that event.
There's a cute gift shop located in an updated pioneer home right by the parking lot.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Lots of flowers, trees, open spaces, sidewalks, etc. You can bring a stroller if needed.
Our first stop was at this small playground.

One of our favorite spots was this old Western village that you can explore, even inside the buildings.

They loved exploring the Western village buildings.

There was a lot of open space so you could bring a blanket for a picnic if you want.
The kids enjoyed these small little 'rides' that I pushed them on.

One of my favorite things was this old stage coach. It made me feel like I was in a Western movie.

There was a huge area with horses you can look at.

Then we walked down to the Medieval town.

This castle was really impressive and huge! We even climbed the stairs to the top and walked along the middle part.

There's a jousting tournament held every year during their Lavender Days celebration.

Now onto the Lavender fields! They are gorgeous! The purple colors are so vibrant. Someone asked about bees, and if it was a problem. There were bees around the flowers, but not enough to concern me or stop us from exploring the lavender fields, I wouldn't really worry about it.
There's a fun little maze the kids can do through the lavender field.

The lavender was so incredible.

On our way home we stopped in at Rowley's Red Barn for some delicious (and very affordable) ice cream. It has a super cute country feeling to it and a gift shop. It's located in Santaquin, UT just up the road 5-6 miles from the Lavender Farm.

We had such a fun time exploring the Young Living Lavender Farm in Mona, Utah. It would be a great stop on a road trip on your way down to or back from Southern Utah. We spent 2-3 hours there so if it's a pit stop on a road trip you may not have as much time as you'd like to fully explore the area.
