Dark Chocolate Berry Tart- Sooooo Rich and Easy to Make!

So I recently posted this photo on Instagram and had several requests for the recipe. I've made this Dark Chocolate Berry Tart a few times for different occasions like birthdays, family get-together, etc. It's easy, quick, and delicious! Like seriously rich so that one "tart" or pie -as I call it - can serve several adults and children.

Crust:

Ingredients:

  • 25 Oreos or chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 1/2 c. melted butter

Method:

Place Oreos in your food processor and process until fine crumbs. Slowly add melted butter and cookie crumbs will start to stick together. Place your crumbs in a 9" pie plate or tart pan, gently patting firmly to secure. Set aside.

Filling:

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. heavy cream
  • 16 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
  • Fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries
  • Powdered Sugar for garnishing

Method:

Heat the heavy cream until just simmering on the stove top or for about 2 minutes in the microwave (cream can overflow really easy so watch it closely.) Pour over the chocolate chips and let stand for 2 minutes to melt. Gently stir until chocolate is thick and creamy. Pour chocolate into your crust and top with your favorite fresh berries. Fresh is key here. I love the combination of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. Place in the fridge to firm up and just before serving top with powdered sugar or even whipped cream.

*I've made this recipe with lots of different kinds of berries, and also with just strawberries. Since I'm dumb I had to ask the question if the oreo cookies were supposed to be the entire cookie, or just the two pieces without the filling.....and you just use the entire cookie.
